It has a single sheet feeder and it is very user friendly. It will handle paper sizes up to 8.5” wide and that includes business cards. Once the document is scanned you can do anything you want with it. Part of the included software is OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which means you will be able to edit the text in the document.

The portable scanner uses a unique CIS (Contact Image Sensor) which allows it to be much smaller and lighter (12 ounces) than your typical desktop scanner. Despite its diminutive size, it delivers nice quality scans. It has a 600dpi (dots per inch) Optical Resolution and it is capable of 4 separate scan modes; 48-bit internally, outputs 24-bit true color, 8-bit gray scale and 1-bit bi-level black and white.

The Pentax DSmobile 600 scanner comes with everything you need to start scanning documents right out of the box. It includes a 3 foot USB cable, user’s manual, installation guide and software (loaded on one CD). To help keep the scanner running properly it has its own calibration card. It runs on Windows OS (XP, 2000, ME and SE) as well as Mac OSX 10.3 and later.
